This September, Sotheby’s presents Pauline Karpidas: The London Collection, an extraordinary trilogy of evening, day, and online auctions celebrating her unique vision, alongside a transformative exhibition to bring the magic of Pauline’s home to the heart of New Bond Street.
From Surrealist icons such as Magritte, Dalí, Ernst, Carrington, and Tanguy, to contemporary masters including Warhol and Koons — the sales bring together over 250 works of art and design. The collection also features bespoke creations by Claude & François-Xavier Lalanne, Mattia Bonetti and André Dubreuil, reflecting Pauline’s eye for the exceptional.
With provenances tracing back to André Breton, Paul Éluard, Edward James, Sir Roland Penrose, Julian Levy and even the family of Picasso, the auctions highlight the enduring history of patronage and the stories behind these extraordinary works.
The public exhibition opens at Sotheby’s London on 8 September, followed by the evening and day auctions 17 and 18 September, and the online auction spanning 8 – 19 September.
