Biography
Max Moore is Senior Vice President and Senior Specialist in Sotheby’s Post-War & Contemporary Art department in New York, bringing over a decade of experience with the firm. From 2021 to 2024, he served as Head of Contemporary Art Auctions for Sotheby’s Asia, based in Hong Kong, where he oversaw landmark sales across the region. Prior to that, he was Co-Head of the biannual Contemporary Art Day Auction in New York (2018–2021).
In his current role, Mr. Moore works closely with Sotheby’s New York Private Sales team, advising collectors on acquisitions and consignments, with a particular expertise in works created from the 1980s to the present day. He holds a B.A. in psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis.
