Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, the visionary duo behind the renowned design and architecture studio Roman and Williams, have shaped some of the most iconic spaces in New York—from the Boom Boom Room and The Met’s British Galleries to their acclaimed restaurant, La Mercerie.
Their latest project is a new restaurant inside Sotheby’s reimagined headquarters at The Breuer. While their bustling New York practice continues to evolve rapidly through architecture, design, and hospitality, it’s their home in Montauk that serves as their creative haven—a place where, surrounded by trees and close to their painting and ceramics studios, they meticulously refine and redefine their work.
