The highlight of the Asian Art / 5000 Years sale is a selection of sixteen bronze and stone sculptures from the collection of Nitta Muneichi (1912-2006), arguably the greatest collection of Buddhist bronzes formed in the modern era. The sale also includes rare Tibetan thangkas and a group of Gandharan stone sculpture originally acquired from Isao Kurita. The highlights of the Chinese section are a selection of bronze scholars’ objects from the collection of Ulrich Hausmann and a group of rare Qingbai figures from the Williams collection.
